    Why I Love November

November in Australia is a time I look forward to every year. The weather starts warming up! The Orion Constellation starts rising in the east, and the Jacaranda trees blossom for that very short window of time. However this year the weather has not been steadily warming up. We have…

    Waterfalls and Name Change

In a previous post I mentioned that I had been up to Waterfall Gully here in Adelaide, but none of the photos really worked out. Well thanks to some post processing in Lightroom and Photoshop I was able to get a decent looking photo of the falls. Now I hate…

    To Another World

I went up to Waterfall Gully today. I was experimenting with different timings on the waterfalls. But none really turned out. It was the wrong time of day as well and the sun was hitting the lens in the wrong spot causing it to flare. So I will need to…

    Hiding

There’s a few places around Adelaide where you’re almost guaranteed to see some kangaroos in the wild. And I love them. I have share previously Kaiserstuhl Conservation Park in The Barossa Valley, north of Adelaide. If you live down south though, a good spot is Onkaparinga River National Park, near…

    Colourful

A few years ago I sent a photo into the Mono Awards – A Black and White photo competition – of a albino peacock. The reason I had initially taken the photo of that white peacock was because none of the colourful peacocks would come out in the sun or…

    Gorge

I went for a wander up to one of my favourite places recently. Gorge Wildlife Park In Cudlee Creek in The Adelaide Hills. This Meerkat was just sitting the contemplating the day. He didn’t seem perturbed by the arrival of us visitors. I was happy with how crisp this shot…

My Photography Story – Part 1

My love of photography goes way back to the 1980’s when I was a kid and bought a 110 camera from Woolies! To be honest I cannot remember much of what I took with it. But it wasn’t long till I bought my first SLR. I bought my first SLR…

I’m Stephen

I love my photography. I believe it all comes down to my love of nature. I live in Adelaide, Australia, and we are so blessed to live close to the sea and close to the bush. Twenty minutes to the west and you see beautiful beaches. Twenty minutes to the east and you’re walking through the bush with koala’s in the wild. Then we have the city itself with an abundance of modern and historical architecture. But I love other things. Birds, landscapes, the stars. Flowers and bees. You will see them here on my website.
